My name is Remy Tanamachi, and I am an artist based in Sacramento, California. I am currently a sophomore at Loyola Marymount University, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education. I enjoy working with paint and sculpture. I often play with color and shape to emphasize the playfulness of my work.

I believe that as a society we focus so closely on our own image, to the point where our mental picture becomes altered to reality. My work is guided by the concept of the dysmorphia and disillusionment of one's self and how it can affect the external image. I feel drawn to this idea as I often see this struggle through myself, the people that surround me, & through media presented online. We have lost the grasp on true realities of inherent beauty. The intention of my work is to magnify/ enhance this feeling through the use of deformity, contrasting color, & exaggerated proportions.
